We're seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor to join our team of compassionate caregivers. Our 25-bed critical access hospital allows our compassionate caregivers to provide excellent patient care in an environment that supports them in their professional growth and development. Cibola General Hospital is one hour from Albuquerque and close to Santa Fe. Cibola General Hospital provides services in general surgery, 24-hour Emergency care, Intensive Care, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics, Pathology, Pediatric Dentistry, Podiatry, Primary Care and Radiology with X-ray, CT, MRI. We have three operating rooms including a room for scopes. Clinics, Lab services, Pharmacy, Cardiopulmonary, and Rehab.

Job Summary

Seeking a licensed therapist to join our recently implemented behavioral health team, in one of the following licensures:

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW
• Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
• Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)

This person will join our recently implemented behavioral health team at the Cibola Family Health Center and provide therapy services for patients, their families and support systems as these relate to their mental health care needs.

Provide individuals, families, and groups with the psychosocial support needed to cope with chronic, acute, or terminal illnesses. Services include advising family care givers, providing patient education and counseling, and making referrals for other services. May also provide care and case management or interventions designed to promote health, prevent disease, and address barriers to access to healthcare.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Performs biopsychosocial assessments and provides counseling services.
• Collaborate with other professionals to assess client needs or treatment plans.
• Advocate for clients or patients to resolve crisis.
• Intervene in crisis situations to assist clients.
• Refer patient, client, or family to community resources to assist in recovery from mental or physical illness and to provide access to services such as financial assistance, legal aid, housing, job placement or education.
• Refer clients to community or social service programs.

Education/Licensure Requirements:

• Licensure in state of New Mexico is required, including a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Mental Health Counseling
• State registration is required
• Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in Social Work/Case Management/Counseling

Preferred

• Hospital experience preferred, but not required

Conditions of Employment:

• Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check, reference checks and a post-offer drug screen.
• Must be employment eligible as verified by the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) and the Government Services Administration (GSA).
• Tuberculin screening required annually

• Must be able to meet the physical conditions of the position
